Copper series - Small

These imaginary landscapes are painted directly onto sheets of copper that I first hammered into a low relief. Forming the gleaming copper is like sculpting light which radiates outwards through the translucent paint.

In the tradition of Romantic landscape painting, these works suggest vast atmospheric scenes despite their intimate scale. Along the horizon, light and sky meet land and sea.

Each copper panel is mounted onto a painted canvas and framed.

The copper sheets are mounted onto painted canvasses to display and isolate each individual work.
